From a simple script, to storyboards, to animation. This project was heavily inspired by the music video “Eternal Horizons” .

I had a blast the entire way through, keep scrolling to see some parts of the process.

A black table with a yellow toolbox underneath, surrounded by various hobby and craft supplies in a cluttered room.
A toy action figure with a black fingerless glove and green pants, having a digital caliper measuring its chest width at 20.7 millimeters, placed on a wooden surface.

Because I started with the action figures of the Doom Slayer and Ash, I needed to build my set to match them. This included booty measurements.

Originally I intended to have the Doom Slayer on a bar stool, but he couldn’t articulate enough to be seated so I chose to have him just be standing at the bar.

An upgrade from the Ikea 2x2, now I work on an Ikea table! Unfortunately this thing wobbles a ton, and I’ll probably end up building my own workbench eventually.

But this offers a better working surface and it’s right next to my PC set up, so easier to look at DragonFrame that way.

A miniature figurine of a man wearing a blue shirt and brown pants, standing behind a wooden counter in front of a red brick wall with two shelves holding various colorful bottles.

I built the set from dollar store foam core, one of my go to crafting materials. I then carved a brick pattern and painted it with acrylic paint. I really enjoyed the brick texture here.

Hand holding a bottle of super-gold X glue with a nozzle, in a room with a blue cabinet in the background.
A photography setup with a camera pointed at a backdrop painted to look like a brick wall with shelves holding bottles. The table has various objects including a doll, a calculator, a small light, and a bottle of glue. Additional equipment and supplies are visible on the side.

Foam safe super glue is absolutely necessary for materials like foam core and extruded polystyrene! Most other super glues will melt the foam.

This glue was used to adhere the shelves to the brick wall, but they also have brass tacks in the back for extra support.

Once everything is built I’m ready to shoot! Once again I should have used clamps or an adhesive to keep the set steady.

The backdrop is a simple black velvet clamped to a pvc frame I built for holding up backdrops and green screens.

I’m also learning to document more of my process, sorry there isn’t more to show for this project, but thanks for reading!
